Fencing Resumes

Fencing Resumes at the 5C’s!!! See you all on Saturday!!

Fencing is Happening!!!

Fencers,

2) If you took a pair of socks from me for competition, please bring $10 for me this Saturday. It would be nice so that I don’t have to shell out $220 for so many socks out of my own pocket…

3) Juan, our amazing Spanish Sabeurist needs everyone to fill out this survey for our Team Reservation at the Pomona Lodges. $75 for one night http://www.doodle.com/2t6hr2kdksrwuvfa

Academics vs Athletics

Fencers,

Please note that there are efforts being made to have us as an NCAA team, varsity status. This comes with much more visibility on campus, priority to space, and general, copious brownie points.

While ‘student’ in ‘student’-athlete comes first, implying that academics does indeed precede athletics, you are competing on a team, and you need tp make the necessary accommodations to  fit additional practices, regular practices, and matches etc. This means, knowing that we have competitions or practices, you should try your best to plan your week out so that you have time for studying, etc AND fencing. If you are on the team, you owe it to the team to do so. It is no longer a personal matter, but a group one.

This is not directed to any individual person, but just something we should remember to keep in mind as we move forward. If we want to team to succeed, quite honestly and as corny as it sounds, it starts with us individually.
